The Engelstad Foundation was created in 2002 by Ralph and Betty Engelstad for the purpose of partnering to create solutions in medical research, improving day-to-day living for people with disabilities and raising the possibilities for high-risk individuals.
In the past 13 years, Betty and Kris Engelstad, as well as a dedicated Board, have grown the Foundation’s presence by focusing on education, healthcare and childhood issues. EyeCare4Kids has been incredibly fortunate to benefit from the generosity of the Foundation.
Earlier this year, EyeCare4Kids Nevada received a grant in the amount of $430,000 to continue our efforts to provide vision care to underserved youth in our community.
Additionally, a portion of the funding will be dedicated to expanding our program to include mobile equipment that we can take into buildings to set up pop-up clinics.
“We are overwhelmingly grateful for the support of The Engelstad Foundation and truly look forward to increasing our reach within the community with the help of our wonderful friends,” says Stephanie Kirby, executive director of EyeCare4Kids Nevada.
