Our Refugee Vision Program provides vision care to the refugee communities in Utah.
There have been numerous times when our refugee patients come to our clinics having never had their eyes checked. Their experience working with an eye care professional, receiving an eye exam and possibly even personalized, prescription glasses is life changing.
EyeCare4Kids works closely with LDS Humanitarian Center, Utah Valley Refugees, Utah Refugee Connection, Catholic Community Services, Salt Lake County Office of New Americans and Refugees and several others to share the gift of sight.
“While we know how impactful vision screenings and care are, we are overwhelmed with the good that so many volunteers and organizations are making with this program,” said Joseph Carbone. “The change that is happening to our Utah refugee patients when they put on a pair of personalized glasses, and their reaction to seeing clearly for the first time, makes any effort worth it.”
