Summer 2025 seems to have come and gone in the blink of an eye!
EyeCare4Kids Nevada was busy all season at our Brinley and Taylor Clinics as well as bringing our Mobile Vision Clinic to the CCSD Family Resource Center, City of Las Vegas Back to School Fair at Lorenzi Park, and several Nevada Hand residential properties. Summer is always a great time to relax and decompress from the busy school year, but it’s also incredibly active as parents try to squeeze in those vision screenings and eye exams to prepare for the upcoming academic year.
EyeCare4Kids Nevada was also so fortunate to spend some time with fabulous partners such as Communities In Schools at their end of year celebration, United Way of Southern Nevada for the partners award breakfast, MGM Resorts Foundation at their GRAN-Tea Celebration, Wynn Resorts at their NonProfit Retreat, and with Select Health at their Grant Award Winners Celebration.
Of course, we continue to heal the sorrow in our hearts over the loss of our friend Elaine Wynn, who was a beacon in our community and whose selflessness and generosity will continue for years to come.
It was a true honor to spend time with Kevyn Wynn and our great friend, Punam Mathur, to share details of our programs as well as heartwarming stories and photos of Elaine.
And, of course, our wonderful friends at the Engelstad Foundation…thank you does not even begin to express the amount of gratitude we have for all of you!
Internally, this summer we said farewell to our longtime Optician, Carol Quigley, who retired after eleven incredible years of service with EyeCare4Kids Nevada. Though we miss her, we are excited for her to experience this next chapter of life. And, as often happens, farewells bring welcomes, and we welcome Alena Mattingly, our new Licensed Optician, who brings a wealth of optical knowledge and experience!
