Amidst the hustle and bustle of the Safe Kids Fair on March 30th at the Mountain America Expo Center in Sandy, Utah, the EyeCare4Kids team provided essential vision screenings to over 300 children.
The annual event promotes child safety and well-being, and among the various safety-focused activities and services, EyeCare4Kids took the opportunity to address a critical aspect of children’s health – their vision. Our dedicated staff and volunteers offered free screenings and took time to answer questions about eye care and glasses.
For many children, especially those from low-income families, access to regular vision care can be a challenge. Undetected vision problems can significantly impact a child’s academic performance, social interactions, and overall quality of life.
Maggie Cline, executive director of EyeCare4Kids Utah, said, “By offering free screenings at community events like the Safe Kids Fair, EyeCare4Kids strives to bridge this gap and ensure that every child has the opportunity to see clearly and thrive. Early detection of vision problems is crucial in preventing potential complications and ensuring timely intervention.”
