He is The Founder of Eye Care 4 Kids Foundation. He currently serves as President and CEO of Eye Care 4 Kids.
During the past 16 years Eye Care 4 Kids has served over 150,000 individuals with vision screenings, eye exams and eyeglasses. Eye Care 4 Kids currently has 8 clinics operating in Utah and Nevada, Las Vegas and Phoenix with vision screenings performed in California, as well as making several International Outreach trips.
After moving to Utah He has served as President, Vice President, Legislative Chairman and Education Chairman of the Utah Society of Certified Dispensing Opticians. When he had his for profit practice he manufactured theatric contact lenses for movies and the theater. He used this talent to fit prosthetic lenses for people who had eye deformities.
His summer vacations, for the past 14 years, have been spent in providing vision services to the more rural areas of the state and Native American reservations.
During the 2010 Legislative session Joseph presented a bill to Sen. Wayne Niederhauser and they lobbied for SB144. It was passed unanimously. Governor Gary Herbert joined in a ceremonial signing of SB144 which allows licensed eyecare professionals to participate in free vision screening for school-aged children.
Representing Eye Care 4 Kids Joseph was interviewed by Harry Smith for NBC Nightly News, appeared on Dr. Oz, featured in in People Magazine, appeared on Person to Person with Shauna Lake, and many other TV news and radio interviews and new paper articles.

Alan served as Chairman of the Board of The Utah Chapter of The March of Dimes for two terms 1977-1997. Served as a media advisor to March of Dimes as the telethon was converted to the Childrens Miracle Network.
