EyeCare4Kids has been dedicated to serving the vision needs of underserved children and their families in Southern Nevada since 2012. When we expanded from Salt Lake City 10 years ago, the Engelstad Foundation was incredibly instrumental in our launch in the community and has continued to be an outstanding and key partner in our work.
The Engelstad Foundation was created in 2002 by Ralph and Betty Engelstad for the purpose of partnering to create solutions in medical research, improving day-to-day living for people with disabilities and raising the possibilities for high-risk individuals. In the past 13 years, Betty and Kris Engelstad, as well as a dedicated Board, have grown the Foundation’s presence by focusing on education, healthcare and childhood issues. Since its beginning, the foundation has donated more than $300 million to a variety of causes.
Since the inception of our amazing partnership with the foundation, EyeCare4Kids has received over $3.4 million to help provide vital vision services, including eye exams and prescription glasses to those most in need in Southern Nevada.
“My favorite aspect of the Engelstad Foundation was how it started,” said Stephanie Kirby, executive director of EyeCare4Kids Nevada. “The Englestads have a love of community and want to make a positive impact on those who are often overlooked. All of us at EyeCare4Kids can truly relate to being motivated by those same feelings. On behalf of our patients, we thank the Engelstad Foundation for its commitment to EyeCare4Kids and the entire community.”
